Latin vocabulary by year
Latin Launchpad teaches its own vocabulary lists for grades 3–8. Year 1 is grade 3, Year 2 is grade 4, Year 3 is grade 5, and Year 4 splits into Year 4A (grade 6), Year 4B (grade 7), and Year 4C (grade 8). Each list below is the Latin and English students practice in that year.
Core-word sets add high-frequency Latin that the main lessons did not already include. English glosses on this site are original. Frequency order for those added words follows the Dickinson College Commentaries Latin Core Vocabulary. Everyday words are short function words and household terms written for this course.
