Your information

Privacy Policy

Updated September 24, 2026

This policy explains what Latin Launchpad collects, why it is used, and the choices available to learners, families, and schools. It includes a specific section about information from children under 13.

Operator contact

Latin Launchpad is the operator of this service. Privacy and parent inquiries are handled through the contact form. Additional verified operator contact information will be provided in this notice before accounts for children under 13 are offered directly.

Information we handle

Guest use

Learners may use the site without an account. A learner name or nickname, selected grade, lesson progress, scores, mastered words, and badges are stored in the browser on that device. This information is not synced to Latin Launchpad servers while using guest mode. Assignment links and completion codes do not include that name. A completion code carries the activity, score, and missed Latin words or question ids so a teacher can read it. It is not a locked certificate.

Optional accounts

If a learner creates an account, Latin Launchpad handles the account email address, optional learner name, selected grade, lesson progress, scores, mastered words, and badges. Authentication is provided by Supabase. Passwords are submitted directly to the authentication service and are not stored in the site's learning-profile records.

Messages

When someone uses the contact form, the name, email address, subject, and message are processed by Netlify and Resend so that Latin Launchpad can receive and respond to the message. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a message.

Technical information

Hosting, authentication, and content-delivery providers may process IP addresses, browser or device information, request timestamps, and similar technical data needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics is disabled unless an adult selects “Allow analytics.” If allowed, Google may receive page views, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser or device details, and timestamps so Latin Launchpad can understand general site usage and improve the service.

Latin Launchpad does not send learner names, email addresses, account identifiers, lesson answers, scores, mastered words, badges, or contact-message content to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google Signals are disabled.

The choice is stored in that browser. Declining does not limit the site, and the choice can be changed at any time with the “Analytics choices” button.

How information is used

Service providers

Latin Launchpad uses Netlify for website hosting and contact-form processing, Resend for contact-email delivery, Supabase for optional account authentication and synced learning data (using a pinned browser library hosted with this site and loaded only when account features are used), and Google Analytics for optional adult-approved usage measurement. These providers may process information needed to deliver their services under their own privacy terms.

What we do not do

Latin Launchpad does not sell personal information. The current service does not display third-party advertising or use personal information for targeted advertising.

Children under 13

Latin Launchpad is directed in part to learners under 13. Younger learners may use guest mode without creating a server-side learning profile. Guest learning information stays in that browser unless the user chooses to create a synced account.

Children under 13 may not create or use a synced account in the current public service. Synced accounts are available only to people age 13 or older. Account creation asks the creator to confirm eligibility and that no child under 13 will use or be identified in the account.

For a younger learner, use a first name, nickname, initials, or classroom identifier rather than a full legal name. Latin Launchpad does not provide public profiles, student messaging, behavioral advertising, or third-party advertising.

Signed-in account holders can download their account data or permanently delete their account and synced records from the Account page. A parent or authorizing school may also ask what child information is maintained, request access or correction, direct that it be deleted, or prevent further collection. Send the request from the account email through the contact form. The requester may be asked to verify authority over the account before information is disclosed or changed.

If Latin Launchpad learns that personal information was collected from a child under 13 through a synced account, the information will be deleted. The public service does not currently operate a verifiable parental-consent workflow or verified school-authorization workflow, so under-13 learners must use guest mode.

School-authorized use

A school may authorize collection from students only for an educational use that benefits the school and not for an unrelated commercial purpose. The current public service has no verified school-authorization workflow, so schools should use guest mode for students under 13 and should not direct them to create synced accounts. Any future school-managed account use must first be approved by the school or district and supported by an appropriate agreement and authorization process. See the School and Vendor Privacy Summary for data elements, providers, controls, and current limitations.

Retention and your choices

Guest information remains in the browser until the site's storage is cleared. Account information and synced progress are retained while the account is active or as reasonably needed to provide and protect the service. Information should be deleted when it is no longer reasonably necessary for the educational or operational purpose for which it was collected. Contact messages may be retained as needed to respond and maintain support records.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of account information through the contact form. A request may require verification that you control the associated email address.

Security

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so learners should use a unique password and keep account credentials private.

Policy updates

This policy may be updated as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected by a revised effective date on this page.
